Undermount Sinks from CDA

If you are looking for something a little more streamlined in your kitchen, then an undermount sink is the way to go. You can still have the option of steel, ceramic or composite and you needn’t compromise on size either, with single and bowl and a half configurations available.

If you are still wondering exactly what an undermount sink is then our undermount sink guide is definitely worth a read. This guide explains what they are, what they are good for, where they look great and what to do with them.

In a nutshell, they are great for creating clean, sleek lines so work particularly well in modern, minimalist kitchens. They’re practical too as they allow you to sweep crumbs and dirt straight into the sink bowl, removing the worry of grubby sink edges and dirt build up.

It is worth considering whether you need a separate draining board as you won’t get one with an undermount sink model. Undermount kitchen sinks are installed on the underside of the worktop so do not have this feature. However, they work particularly well with solid surface, granite, quartz and resin worktops where drainer grooves can be carved into the surface – adding a further design feature to your kitchen.

If you think an inset mounted sink that also has a drainer would be more suitable, please check out the rest of our kitchen sink range, which includes a huge range of stainless steel sinks, ceramic sinks and composite kitchen sinks with draining boards.

Undermount Kitchen Sinks in a Range of Materials

Undermount sinks are available in ceramic, composite and stainless steel so you will not have to compromise on your favourite material for this style. If you need help deciding which sink material suits your needs best, you can take a look at our kitchen sink materials guide.

Rest assured that we only use the highest grade of materials in our undermount sink range.

From the hand-fired clay of our ceramic undermount sink (which can also be inset mounted), to virtually indestructible composite, and corrosion and rust-resistant heavy gauge stainless steel that is so practical in function and style.

Each of our undermount kitchen sinks are also supplied with a suitable fixing kit and installation guidelines, so you don’t need to worry about fitting.

Undermount Sinks That Suit You

From small single bowl undermount sink models that will fit neatly in a 450mm base unit, to large undermount sink models which are similar in size to a Belfast sink but offer a more contemporary look.

For maximum flexibility, we’ve also made it easy to create a configuration that works for you by offering a range of separate single bowl and half bowl undermount sinks. If you’d prefer a complete unit, we offer those in various styles too, so you can rest assured there’s one that’s right for you.

Depending on your style, you might be looking for a more rounded or a square undermount sink design. If you’ve spent a long time choosing handles and lighting to match your dream look, then your sink should definitely fit in with the rest of the styling too!

Kitchen Taps to Match

You can really go for any style of tap with an undermount sink, the low profile styling is perfect for showing off a sculptural design and making a proud statement with your tap.

Our selection of kitchen taps includes single lever, double lever monobloc and bridge taps, so you can pick out one that matches the look and overall style of your kitchen.

Inset sinks often have a dedicated space for tap installation, but due to the nature of undermount sinks, you’re given more flexibility to position your tap where you’d prefer (as long as your plumbing and cupboard space allows for it).

All of our undermount sinks are compatible with our space saver plumbing packs for convenient installation and saving on cupboard space. Our undermount sinks can also be used with a waste disposal unit, should you wish to get rid of food waste more efficiently.

Can undermount sinks be replaced?

If you have an existing undermount sink, it’s definitely possible to replace it but there are some considerations you’ll need to make.

You will need to pick a replacement that is the same size or larger than your current one to match the opening in your worktop. We’d also advise getting the assistance of a professional, as the adhesive used to secure the sink will be strong and oftentimes the worktop will need to be removed to replace an undermount sink.

Can an undermount sink be inset?

In short, it depends. Some undermount sinks are designed to suit both undermount and inset installation whilst others aren’t. One key indicator is the lip around the edge.

Sinks that are exclusively undermount, don’t tend to have a “finished” lip, so can be rough to touch and unsightly, the lip depth is also likely to be smaller than one designed to suit both types of installation. Sinks designed to be inset tend to have a larger lip so they can be sealed effectively to prevent water ingress and to improve stability.
